Concept & Open Call:

This call is open to artists working in all media.

We are looking for artists to participate in a group exhibition as part of Vienna Art Week 2025, titled X Frames Per Space. The exhibition will take place from November 8th – 14, 2025 in the library of the former University of Economics in Vienna.

In today's flood of images, the frame often goes unnoticed – that inconspicuous excerpt that determines what becomes visible and what remains hidden. X Frames Per Space explores framings as a foundational structure of perception, knowledge, and power. Every frame – whether visual, conceptual, or systemic – shapes how we understand the world, while simultaneously excluding other perspectives.

We understand framing as a fundamental process of learning: it selects information, structures perception, and defines reality. This exhibition invites artists to explore framing in its many forms – visual, media-based, and societal – and to question the mechanisms that silently shape our worldviews.

What happens when we begin to challenge these constructions? What new knowledge spaces open up when we expose the frames that define what we take for granted?
